Dr. Church Solomon Akpan is a Professor of Mass Communication who started out as an Assistant Lecturer with the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in 1999 and later joined the Department of Mass Communication, Akwa Ibom State University in 2013 where he has risen to the rank of a Professor. He is a thorough bred Mass Communication profesional who has obtained Undergraduate and Postgraduate academic qualification in reputable instutitons in Nigeria.
He holds professional qualifications such as Certificate in Television Production, Diploma in Mass Communication and Advanced Diploma in Televison Production. Also his ethical disposition to life and self-less nature has attracted several awards such as Recognition of Selfless Services to the Department of Mass Communciation, University of Nigeria, Nsukka by Jacksonite and many more.
He is highly experienced in broadcasting and teaching which has brought about Lecturing and Administrative positions within and outside the University environs. He Teaches 5 Undergraduate and 16 Postgraduate courses and has Supervised/Examined numerous MA, PGD and BA degreee holders.
He holds professional memberships with Advertising Practioners's Council of Nigeria, Africa Council on Communication Education and Nigeria Union of Journalist.
He has attended several conferences, seminars and workshop and presented papers at a couple of them. His deep research and practical experiences in Mass Communication has culminated into several publications such as 42 Journal articles and 4 books. Majority of of such publications are open access on this knowledgebase.
He is married and blessed with quality children.
